The scenery is amazing.

I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have a car.

I stayed on the top floor, in a room with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen.

I came to this accommodation in Switzerland mainly to cook my own meals, and the kitchen here is very well-equipped.

Compared to other places, it definitely offers great value for money.

They don't charge for parking either.

The view from the balcony is indescribably breathtaking.

The breakfast is the same every day, so you might get a bit tired of it.

I tried coffee yogurt for the first time in my life; it wasn't delicious, but it's worth a try.

The staff are, of course, friendly.

There is a microwave in the hallway on the first or second floor.

Strangely enough, there is no microwave in the room with the kitchen.

The path from the accommodation to the First Cable Car is a slightly downhill trail, but it is pretty. It is worth taking photos.

On the way back up, it is a bit of an uphill climb, so I took the bus.

I stayed in an Eiger View Double room for two nights!

This hotel perfectly embodied my image of Switzerland, allowing me to fully enjoy the nature of Grindelwald and a delicious breakfast. 🇨🇭🐮

【Location, Access, and Transfer】
The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from Grindelwald station. While it's a manageable distance for those accustomed to walking, using the No. 121 bus (every 30 minutes / last bus at 6:30 PM) is highly recommended. The nearest bus stop is about a 5-minute walk away. Hotel guests can ride the bus for free, and even before check-in, showing the hotel reservation confirmation screen allowed me to board.

The hotel also offers a station transfer service (10 francs per vehicle, not per person).
Transfer Hours: 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM / 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
How to Use: Contact at least one hour before your desired time.
This was very helpful, especially when I had large suitcases and could request a transfer at a time that suited me.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM, but there's a self-service luggage storage room available.

[Rooms & Views]
The rooms have a warm, inviting wooden interior, typical of a Swiss mountain lodge, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The views of the Eiger and other mountains from the balcony are magnificent, and we also saw lovely alpine plants around the hotel.

Having a room with a bathtub was a welcome bonus, allowing us to soothe away the fatigue of hiking and travel in a relaxing soak.

Incidentally, there's a kettle and microwave available for free use in the hallway. There's also a refrigerator in the room, making it convenient for those who prefer to shop at the supermarket.

[Breakfast]
The breakfast featured plenty of local ingredients and was very satisfying. The rich, fresh Alpine milk is an absolute must-try! The wide variety of cheeses, local yogurt (Eiger Milch), and cereals made breakfast a daily treat.

This is a wonderful hotel surrounded by nature, allowing you to fully experience the essence of Switzerland. I would love to stay here again when I return to Grindelwald!

I've recently returned from a 7-night stay at the Hotel Gletscherblick, and miss the place already! The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast buffet varied and tasty, and the view from our balcony across to the Mättenberg and Wetterhorn simply breathtaking.
The hotel is a little way out of town which suited us perfectly, and the nearby bus stop allowed for a simple connection to the station for our days out. Buses stop running in the early evening though, so be prepared for an uphill walk back if you stay out!
All the hotel staff we met were very friendly and helpful, offering good ideas for our time in the area. What the place may lack in 5-star resort polish it more than makes up for in charm and atmosphere. Essentially, this place is a little gem, and I hope to get another chance to stay there some day.

We had a great stay - we were well received, our room had a nothing less than amazing view of the mountains, and the breakfast was great. Very much hoping to come back again in the future!

Beautiful location of the 3 mountains and room was our favorite out of all the places we’ve stayed. Service was excellent when we were there, however the pre-check in communication could have been better to recognize we paid our stay in full. Got an email the day before that our room would be canceled if we didn’t pay a deposit but we had already paid for our reservation in full so that was stressful to deal with during our vacation. Would be nice if they had a WhatsApp number to communicate directly with them.

🚩We showed up at 3:55pm after a long day of travel. The receptionist was sitting at the desk and will NOT check us in until 4pm. 🙄 At least she was nice though and said she doesn’t check guests in until 4pm. There’s no wiggle room on this so don’t even bother showing up even 5 min early.

🚩 Bed is uncomfortable and very firm. It’s hard to sleep. You wake up with a sore back… tough especially when you have to pay $500+ per night for the junior suite.

🚩 No black out curtains, so when the sun rises at 5:30am, you’re fully awake from the sunlight

🚩 Your room key is a large key 🔑 so you have to switch out your keys for a smaller key everytime you leave the hotel. The receptionist will give you instructions on how to do it.

🚩 There’s only a receptionist from 0700-1100 and 4pm-8pm so after that, you’re on your own. If the front door gets locked by another guest, better have your key on you.

🚩 There’s no AC in the summer which I understand because it’s Switzerland, but this makes it uncomfortable to sleep at night even w the windows open especially if you have kids. They do have one fan available in the Junior suite.

🚩 The lobby area is small and uncomfortable and consists of 4 chairs.

🚩 Like everyone else says, the hill back up to the hotel is steep and tiresome after a long day.

🚩 At night, some hallways/stairs leading up to the other floors are darker than I’m comfortable with.

Breakfast is at 0730-10am
The junior suite (room 31) is a 1-bedroom apartment with one separate bedroom so you do get privacy from your roommates. You all share one bathroom. There are 2 beds in this room - one bed in the bedroom and another bed in the living room. This room doesn’t have a view of the mountains from the balcony. I probably won’t stay again.

I stayed in the apartments room type. The staff were welcome upon entering. The apartments include a kitchenette that has cooking equipment, cleaning supplies, dishes, but no seasoning. The view was awesome, and there was a roof window. The windows can open vertically or horizontally, providing plenty of ventilation. Storage was also abundant, as there were countless cabinets and shelves.

Breakfast was also provided, and their toast is probably the best item. All options were pretty basic. The items aren’t really labeled, except for a few that are in German. Tables are assigned based on your room number.

Being relatively close to many of the mountain gondolas, it proved to be a convenient place to stay, especially since we were exploring the area.

The room itself was very old, and a little dirty.
